It is a mission mode project for the digitalisation of the legislative houses with the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs as the nodal ministry for its implementation.
It is a centrally sponsored scheme which is funded by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs along with technical assistance from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
It involves a workflow system deployed on NIC (National Informatics Centre) cloud, MeghRaj which enables the Chair of the house to conduct the proceedings of the house smoothly, assisting the members to perform their duties efficiently and to conduct the legislative business of the house in a paperless manner.
NeVA offers a user friendly Mobile App which is available on android as well as iOS. With this, information on the conduct of legislative business has become accessible anytime and anywhere to everyone.
It is also in alignment with the concept of One Nation One Application.
The Bihar Legislative Council became the first house in the country to adopt NeVA platform completely.

Orientation workshop and training is given to the States and Union Territories.
It is a unicode compliant software providing easy access to various documents like list of questions, list of business, reports and so on and so forth. These documents are available in English and in any other regional language.
This application is promoting the objective of Cloud First and Mobile First to serve Members’ First.
NeVA is playing an exemplary role in enhancing the synergy, coordination, transparency and accountability between the legislature and the executive across the states and within a state.
Therefore, NeVA can be considered a robust IT product that makes maximum use of technological developments like artificial intelligence and IoT transforming the governance machinery of the country.
